Should I get the sims 3 for ds?

Okay so I love the sims! I have played almost all of them, but when it comes to the ds I expect something fun. I love the sim2 for ds and sims 2 castaway also the my sims things, but I didn't like their apartment pets... and the sims 2 pets for ds was a 3/5 for me. I have read some reviews and I'm not sure if the game will be anything like the sims 3 for ps3 (which I bought and also love) So pretty much i want to get it, but I'm worried i won't like it. so anyone who has played the ds version i want to know is it like the sims 2 for ds, better, worse, do you like the game? and if you have never played it just tell me your thoughts on the sims (any system, any version) also tell me which one is your favorite and what system.
